The Singer of Russian Songs / Исполнительница русских песен
 

Russian songs, folk tales, language, history, art and culture have long been a source of inspiration for me.  In terms of songs, I am drawn to the emotional depth, storytelling and vivid imagery found within this repertoire.  My programmes range from traditional folk, romances, popular singalong favourites, contemporary songs, music from Soviet films and settings of poetry by classical composers such as Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov.

 

Through my own interpretations and arrangements, I seek to bring a fresh perspective to these works, whilst remaining respectful of their origins and retaining a connection to their original spirit.
